Outdoors On The Ave
Returning for our sixth year: summer outdoor concerts and movies in the square at U District Station on the four Fridays after Labor Day. The theme for this year's movies is Back to School. All free, all the time.
September 11
The Morgan Smith & Co. band honors the legacy of bluegrass history while keeping every performance lively, engaging, and upbeat. The movie Legally Blonde (2001) follows at dusk.
September 18
Hockey Teeth offers a fresh and infectious take on the classic power pop sound, drawing comparisons to Phoenix, Elvis Costello, and Wilco. The movie Grease (1978) follows at dusk.
September 25
Carrie Jennings' performances are both tender and bold, with spellbinding vocals, lush instrumentals, and endearing stage banter. The movie Clueless (1995) follows at dusk.
October 2
For our season finale we have two performances: Robert Leslie a folk soloist and REPOSADO a 9-piece 'TequilaFunk' band. The movie Ferris Bueller's Day Off (1986) follows at dusk.

Over the summer of 2025 our community transformed the new square by the U District light rail station into an Urban Living Room for all to enjoy live musical concerts and outdoor movies.
This report presents the results of the summer series that began during the pandemic. We're committed to bringing it back each year, so stay in the loop.

This September, our 6th annual outdoor music & movie series returns to the Square at U District Station. What began during the pandemic to bring neighbors together has become a cherished tradition that celebrates the diversity, equity, and creativity of our inclusive community.
These free Friday-night events support local businesses, brings people into the neighborhood during the quiet summer months, and showcases the U District’s vibrant cultural scene. The events are made possible through your support and generous funding from 4Culture of King County and Amazon.
