Over the summer our community transformed the new square by the U District light rail station into an Urban Living Room for all to enjoy dance classes, live musical concerts, and outdoor movies.
This report presents the results of the summer series, our fifth annual event that began during the pandemic. We're committed to bringing it back next summer, so stay in the loop.
Outdoors On The Ave
Last summer's outdoor concerts and movies were a big hit, so we brought them back this summer. The theme for this year's series was diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility - celebrating all that Keeps the U District Unique.

This August and September, our 5th annual outdoor music & movie series returned—in the new Square at U District Station. What began during the pandemic to bring neighbors together has become a cherished tradition that celebrates the diversity, equity, and creativity of our inclusive community.
These free Friday-night events supported local businesses, brought people into the neighborhood during the quiet summer months, and showcased the U District’s vibrant cultural scene. The events were made possible through your support and generous funding from 4Culture of King County and Amazon.
