U District Advocates

The outdoor concert and movie series, as well as numerous other activities, was produced by the U District Advocates, a volunteer 501c3 nonprofit since 2013.

We strive to Keep the U District Unique as it becomes the most walkable, livable, and inclusive urban community in Seattle, where the benefits of density are accessible to all.

Outdoors On The Ave

In the depths of the pandemic, neighbors were longing to gather together safely, outdoors. Our community made it happen with outdoor dining, live concerts, and games.

Since 2021, we continue to bring fantastic and free activities to our U District neighborhood.

Summer Green Street

We renovated one section of NE 42nd Street as an experiment in 'tactical urbanism' during the summer of 2024.

This temporary activation attracted people to the U District to envision our public realm for the future. All events on our calendar were free and family-friendly.  Movie nights featured free popcorn.

Outdoors On The Ave

Last summer's outdoor concerts and movies were a big hit, so we brought them back this summer—now in the new square at U District Station!

The theme for this year's series was diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility - celebrating all that Keeps the U District Unique.
