U District Advocates
The outdoor concert and movie series, as well as numerous other activities, was produced by the U District Advocates, a volunteer 501c3 nonprofit since 2013.
We strive to Keep the U District Unique as it becomes the most walkable, livable, and inclusive urban community in Seattle, where the benefits of density are accessible to all.
Summer Green Street
We renovated one section of NE 42nd Street as an experiment in 'tactical urbanism' during the summer of 2024.
This temporary activation attracted people to the U District to envision our public realm for the future. All events on our calendar were free and family-friendly. Movie nights featured free popcorn.
Outdoors On The Ave
Last summer's outdoor concerts and movies were a big hit, so we brought them back this summer—now in the new square at U District Station!
The theme for this year's series was diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility - celebrating all that Keeps the U District Unique.
Sponsors & Partners
Hosted by U District Advocates. Free access is supported by 4Culture of King County. Funding also provided by the Neighborhood Matching Fund of the Seattle Department of Neighborhoods, Amazon, and Office of Arts & Culture of Seattle. Coordinated with U District Partnership.
